Born in Guiyang, 1989, Liang Shuni currently lives and works in Guangzhou. She graduated from Wenhua College, Yunnan Art Institute in 2010. Liang is a sensitive observer of everyday life, especially both familiar and strange people, animals and events, and presents them in forms of painting and sculpture from diversified perspectives. She is good at applying her imagination to create scenes that beyond time and space, making her works burst out with a childish and vigorous desire for expression. Her paintings often transcend the boundaries in two and three-dimensional spaces, offering a viewing experience to pull together the material reality and virtual space.

Liang’s first solo exhibition “Forest Farm” (Hunsand Center for Contemporary Art, Shijiazhuang, 2023) includes more than 40 paintings and sculptures by the artist from 2016 to the present. From the body that was stripped of all social identities and symbols in the early days of her creation, to her recent revisiting of the “forest farm” that once brought her infinite happiness, Liang’s creations are not only to record the way individuals search for self-understanding, but also from a provocation, humor and obvious female perspective to outline the individual's experience migrating from the primitive regions to developed cities. Her works were recently featured in the group exhibitions, including “Stone Ocean” (Hunsand Space, Beijing, 2023), “Lost in Translation” (Galerie du Monde, Hong Kong, 2023), “Falling Moon” (Des Goethe-Instituts China, Beijing, 2022), “A Spring of Magical Thinking” (Hunsand Space, Beijing, 2022), “Hitouban” (Benguangdahuanglang + Jasagala, Shanghai, 2021).
