于吉
Yu Ji
1985 年生于上海，现生活和工作于上海及纽约。2011 年毕业于上海大学美术学院雕塑系，获硕士学位。于吉以多样且具实验性的实践闻名，使用装置、表演和视频等媒介，其中，雕塑是她工作的核心。于吉的近期作品大都基于对特定地域的研究，以及对特定地点进行地理和历史叙述的能力。她专注于以时间、空间和移动来创造的想法，通常使用最少的材料，将非物质和无形的事物注入物质存在。于吉经常进行田野调查，作为其一部分，她在世界各地不同的地点介入临时性干预，对身体在日常环境中的位置进行反思与质问，将其引入观者的整个空间意识中。
2008 年至 2021 年，她联合创办了 “上午艺术空间”，这是一个由艺术家发起的机构，致力于推动艺术家、策展人与公众之间的实验与交流。

Born in Shanghai, 1985, Yu Ji currently lives and works in Shanghai and New York. She obtained her MA from the Department of Sculpture, College of Art of Shanghai University, in 2011. She is known for her diverse and experimental practice, using the mediums of installation, performance and video, with sculpture at the core of her work. Recently, most of her works are based on the research of specific regions, and the ability to create geographical and historical narratives for them. She grasps the idea of working with time, space and movement, usually utilizes minimal materials, in which infuses the immaterial and intangible things. Yu often conducts fieldwork. As part of this, she makes temporary interventions in different locations around the world to reflect and question the position of the body in the daily environment, introducing it into the viewers’ entire spatial awareness.
From 2008 to 2021, Yu Ji co-founded “am art space,” an artist-led initiative promoting experimentation and exchanges between artists, curators and the public.

Selected recent group exhibitions include the Taipei Biennial 2025, titled Whispers on the Horizon (2025); 目 Chine at the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2024); Sigg Prize 2023 at M+ (2023); the 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art at the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (2021); and Soft Water Hard Stone, the New Museum Triennial at the New Museum (2021), among others.
